Matt's Story

Matt had a way of turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, leaving family and friends with laughter and joy in our hearts. He had an incredible capacity for fun and a zest for life that was truly infectious. Matt was adventurous and fearless, jumping at the opportunity to take on challenged or risk that offered a thrill, making every day of his life an adventure for him and others. His caring nature knew no bounds; he extended his hand to those in need or deemed less fortunate without hesitation, reminding us all of the importance of compassion, empathy and kindness. Matt stood as a testament to the power of acceptance and inclusivity. Though he may no longer be with us in person, Matt will forever remain a cherished presence in the hearts of family and friends. May his spirit continue to inspire us, and may his memory serve as a constant reminder of the beauty that can be found in every moment of our lives.

Matt made the decision to become an organ donor. Because of that decision, he still lives on in the flesh through four recipients that received his heart, lungs and kidneys. For that, those recipients and their families, their lives, which were once dire, became living miracles with Matt’s gift.
On September 11, 2018, Matt's organs were donated. Matt' big and loving heart went to 30-year-old women, who is able to continue loving and raising her 3 children. Matt's lungs were given to a 59-year-old man, who has three children and 6 grandchildren. Matt's liver and left kidney saved a loving 67-year-old man who has a wife and son. Matt's right kidney went to 54-year-old women who is married and has a daughter.

For all of us who knew Matt, may we carry forward his legacy of love, kindness, and acceptance through our charitable giving. Let us be that bright light in someone else's life, by spreading joy wherever we go, and by showing unwavering care and compassion to those around us.

Kindly consider donating blood, honoring Matt and all others who have provided life-saving acts by becoming an organ donor through organdonor.gov, donating blood through American Red Cross organizations or making a monetary donation to this organization, of which all funds will be used to provide financial

Matt - Loved you then, love you still, always have, always will.
